Sesame Girl

Based in Wollongong, Sesame Girl are pushing aussie indie to new heights, crafting a sweet web of sound, laced with elements of shoegaze and dream-pop that any listener may find themselves entangled in.

Their new single ‘Superstar’ is notably more intimate than previous work, a nostalgic mix of uplifting pop and shoegaze that makes you want to congratulate friends on the simple beauty of being alive.

‘You are,

one in a million,

a superstar’

Lead singer Heather Duncan revealed it’s her favourite song Sesame Girl have released. On ‘Out of the Box’ with Matt Do, they also teased the release of a new record in the coming months, utilising a new beautiful sound to shake up the current musical landscape.

The four-piece band, originally from Canberra have been working with Simon Lam, a talented producer and member of renowned band ‘Armlock’. The songs are layered exquisitely; each listen more textured and richer than the last.

Each chorus overflows with emotional sound, and once paired with a stripped back verse, it feels like a picnic on the last warm day of the year. A unique sound, reserved for unique moments and unique memories, bathed in dreamy guitar pop madness.

Sesame Girl have been releasing music for more than five years, amassing hundreds of thousands of listeners across the world, seemingly capturing the essence of youth in sweet melodies and soft, delicate vocals.
