The heart of emerging music, arts and culture.

We are a radio station powered by a community of local broadcasters and creatives.

For over 20 years, we’ve been championing new local music, voices and stories. fbi.radio supporters are the reason why this station remains 100% independent. Without any regular or significant government funding, it’s the generosity of people like you who ensure our volunteers can make the best radio they can. It means that the music you don’t hear anywhere else has a home, the voices that are otherwise quiet are loud, and the stories usually lost are told.

Listening to fbi.radio will always be free. Your support keeps it that way.

Benny, Guano C, and Ify stand in the fbi.radio music library. All three are looking at the camera, and Ify and Benny are smiling. Guano C looks fake confused. He stands in the middle with his arms over Ify and Benny's shoulders.
Ruby wears a Collarbones t shirt and pretends to play the DJ decks, Al sings into a pringles can. Both are wearing dark sunglasses in the FBi studio.
The three members of MUNA stand on the street outside fbi.radio with Tanya Ali. All four of them are facing the camera and smiling in dappled sunlight, with arms around each other's backs.

Why support us?

  • We are proudly 100% listener-owned and funded, with no ongoing government support.

  • We play 50% Australian music, with half from Sydney, handpicked by people. Not algorithms.

  • Community radio supports the local economy by spotlighting the small businesses, cultural initiatives and neighbourhood icons that make Sydney vibrant.

  • We create space for collaboration and growth, supporting 500+ volunteers and emerging creatives annually through accessible community-run programs.

  • We’re an incubator for the next generation of Australian radio, media and creative talent. We equip young people with skills and pathways into media, broadcasting, and creative work.

  • We help Sydney discover their new favourite artists and have been doing so for two decades now.

  • We facilitate music, arts and culture initiatives for young people of diverse abilities, genders and cultural backgrounds across Greater Sydney (including Dance Class, Tracks, and All The Best).

  • We provide a crucial platform for emerging culture and provide space for creative communities to reach new audiences.

  • We keep you company 24/7, with new music, diverse ideas and information you can trust.
