Sabine and Darcey discuss "Toxic" directed by Saulė Bliuvaitė, which we both loved. So beautiful, so atmospheric, and inTOXICating. This is our first film of July, where we are focusing on Women Directors.
STANDOUT MOMENTS
Sabine's favourite moment was the opening scene, where one of Toxic's main characters, Christine, is playing basketball. It introduces her so well and highlights the environment she's grown up in. The whole aesthetic of the scene, with the music in the background is an awesome way to start the film.
Darcey's favourite moment is when lead character Christine's father and girlfriend dance in their living room. It's so beautifully shot, and whilst it doesn't add to the main storyline, it is an essential scene and incredibly enticing.
