Unwarranted opinion:
Valentine's Day at its core is a sweet notion (remove the commercialism). Some people need a public excuse or scapegoat to fully and tangibly demonstrate their affections - which of course is not ideal and entirely healthy but wake up this is the real world - and I think we should all be a bit less cynical about the holiday. Everyone get more friendly NOW.
