this month we're focusing on sophomore films - the second release from our selection of infamous directors. no film segment on a pompous, "woke", radio program would be complete without the discussion of godard's second feature (and anna karina's performance).
standout moment is the non-verbal argument angela and her boyfriend get into, using only book titles to communicate their frustrations. it perfectly demonstrates godard's ability to trivialise conflicts without diluting the message at the core of his works/films.
also the signature tableaus. can't really intellectualise why they make me feel so content but they just do.
