Sabine and Darcey talk about the film "Pepi, Luci, and Bom and Other Girls like Mom" directed by Pedro Almodóvarso, a film which is so bizarre, and unapologetic yet thought provoking, and a part of New Queer Cinema for our Pride Month programming this June.
STANDOUT MOMENT:
Sabine's standout moment from the film was when a women dressed from "a century other than her own" enters the lobby of the club and leaves almost immediately. Main character Bom says we need to get her. They run out and grab her, and then soon after she leaves to perform in a play. Very random, very sporadic, very this film.
Darcey's standout moment was when Pepi's friends act as a wedding band to get revenge on a man that did her wrong. We won't spoil, but it was definitely a standout scene.
SOUNDTRACK HIGHLIGHT:
Little Nell - "Do the swim"
Monna Bell - "Estaba Escrito"

Joy Division - "Transmission"
The Specials - "You're Wondering Now"
The Clash - "London Calling"
