⊹₊♚₊⊹ KINGS AND QUEENS ⊹₊♚₊⊹

This morning, Ify welcomed back Gaysian Empress of Sydney and resident host, Dyan Tai for Kings & Queens!! We were treated to not one, but TWO(!!) incredible guests on Kings & Queens this morning.

Dyan hit the ground running with an incredible interview with the lovely Bonnie Huang - a multi-disciplinary artist playing and creating with dreams and textures on Dharug land - to offer personal insights into their latest art project, 'Dare To Dream', that will be displayed at multiple locations across Sydney! 'Dare To Dream' brings together culturally and linguistically diverse LGBTQ+ residents of Western Sydney in an art project that celebrates, advocates for and increases the visibility of this community. Find more information about getting involved in this beautiful project HERE!

For today's second interview, Dyan and Ify welcomed Loosie Grind, a queer vocalist and self-taught producer and DJ, into the FBi studio for a super engaging chat about her lived experiences as an up-and-coming artist, producer and DJ! Dyan and Ify twattled with Loosie all about her new single 'I Like' that she released back on the 7th of March this year!! In her own words, 'I Like' is “For the gays to go wild, and for the straights to go gay”.

Words of Wisdom from Loosie Grind: Advice for queer and female DJ’s for securing festival line-ups – it's an easy thing to get caught up in the narrative that it’s a privilege for women and queer folks to play at festivals and be a part of a line-up, BUT it’s important also to recognise that they are just as lucky to have you there as you are grateful to be performing! It's so important that you know your worth, that you’re good enough – if they don’t see that, then they aren’t worth your time.
