Scoob (they/she) is back on the airwaves from 12-4am bringing in the Winter Solstice, the shortest day and longest night of the year in the Southern Hemisphere. Across cultures and throughout history, this moment has been marked as a time of reflection, rest, ritual and renewal. While the darkness reaches its peak, it's also the turning point – from here, the days slowly begin to lengthen again and Scoob is excited about that!
Tonight's show moves through icy electronics, dreamlike ambient passages, left-field club music, jazz, rap and experimental sounds from around the world. Music for the longest night of the year: sometimes restless, sometimes comforting, occasionally strange (wait actually, it's just Scoob that is strange), but always searching for light somewhere in the dark.
Scoob shouted out the upcoming album from New York musician and recent mother (congratulations!) Eartheater, the Playlist Better Music by the artist Better Person on Spotify (get well soon Better Person, we love you!), ps goner's/HOMESHAKE's NTS Radio Show, Sina's bass mix on Soundcloud and Claire Rousay's upcoming show at Elizabeth Bay House.
Thanks for listening <3
