Surfacing is dedicated to experimental and outsider songwriters and composers exploring interesting musical territories.
Tonight's program is about two things. First, refocusing the tone of the show for the year ahead – acoustic and 'hard' or analog instruments used in interesting ways, unusual songwriters and song structures, genre agnostic and exploring music that is genuinely experimental for its form, coming from outside or elsewhere. Then the playlist theme 'wash' about the choppy summer ocean, perhaps washing away anything that needed to be rinsed from the year that was, or pulling things back within reach and over the top.
