Surfacing is dedicated to experimental and outsider songwriters and composers exploring interesting musical territories.

Tonight’s playlist theme is taken from the title of a song from Aidan Baker, the playlist theme and his song is called ‘When the Waves They Parted’. We’re going to hear music that is either huge and crashing or with beauty found in the spaces in between. Perhaps some songs will be both things at the same time. I’ve always been very interested in space in music – the ways things build and then shed so that will certainly come through.
