Surfacing is dedicated to experimental and outsider songwriters and composers exploring interesting musical territories.

Tonight's playlist theme is 'phosphene'. It's the phenomenon of seeing light without light entering the eye. I’m usually very explanatory with my themes. Maybe tonight I’m not gonna be. It’s nice to keep it open to interpretation, perhaps you can create your own meaning for how phosphenes applies to the music we’re hearing. Though I will note that it was inspired by an album by Jessica Moss, the violinist from Silver Mt Zion.
