Tonight's playlist theme is 'Pulling the Rain'. Coming off the back of the stormy weather, it’s always interesting to hear how differently people respond to storms. Some people love it, they find it peaceful, calming. I have a tin roof on my house and there’s a fine line between it being too loud and chaotic when it’s pouring or being quite soothing. But there was a moment the other night when it felt gently rapturous. It was loud and constant enough for it to be inescapable but it also literally and metaphorically muted a lot of the peripheral noise that’s been going on lately, for a window of time at least. And that’s what I want to play tonight, music that’s gently rapturous, subtle but also totally enveloping.
