We're back for our broadcast of 2024 and elated to bring you a formidable, distilled and hopeful talk by our friends at Institute of Critical Race Research (ICRR). Many Blackfullas (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) and Palestinians have long stood together in Indigenous solidarity due to their shared sovereignty (belonging to the land), experience of colonial occupation and staunch resistance. This event brought together prominent Blackfulla and Palestinian activists, artists and thinkers for the connected struggles of sovereign peoples of this continent and Palestine. Angela Davis, Chelsea Watego, Dr Amy McQuire, Boe Spearim, Uncle Dr Shane Coghill, Uncle Lionel Fogarty, Rihab Charida, Dr Jamal Nabulsi, Wejdan Shamala

This symposium was held in Magan-djin, so-called Brisbane, on Tuesday 7th November, 2023, at the State Library of Queensland. It was co-organised by the Australian Palestine Advocacy Network (APAN), Magan-djin Blackfulla Palestinian Solidarity, and Sisters Inside Qld. You can find the full video of the event hosted by the Institute for Collaborative Race Research here: Institute for Collaborative Race Research (icrr.com.au).
