The fifth episode of Postmodern Love is ‘Limerence’ - the psychological phenomenon of one sided attachment. This goes beyond being a really intense crush! Limerence involves obsession that can only be resolved by cutting off the person (“limerent object”) altogether.
The feature story for today’s show is a live-in-studio interview with Tayla, a singer songwriter who has explored acoustic and electronic means to tell stories of her life. Tayla is a documentarian of love not only through music but through video! I first was introduced to the concept of limerence through Tayla's performance of Saturday Night at UniTunes Live at Buddys!
