amby downs is the musical pseudonym of  multidisciplinary artist Tahlia Palmer. She is of Yuwaalaraay/Gamilaraay descent, born in Perth and currently based in Melbourne. Her practice spans painting, sound, video, and writing, and is grounded in  archival research, non-linear storytelling, and processing the inter-generational trauma of colonial dispossession. Through a general focus on place-based inquiry, she critically engages with colonial histories and their ongoing environmental and political impacts.
