This week on MSG4000, we’re broadcasting Part One of Grassroots Rising: Community Radio’s Power in APAC, a two-part conversation presented by @emcaustralia and @mixmagasia, exploring the past, present and future of community radio across the Asia-Pacific.
From pirate radio histories to grassroots movements and the sounds shaping local scenes, Part One traces the power of independent broadcasting as a space for cultural memory, collective identity and community-led storytelling.
After the conversation expect a mix from Takky, recorded in Amesterdam Dance event (ADE) that we featured exactly almost a year ago as a part of our collaboration with BCR at the festival, supported by Sound Australia.
Takky is an acting Director of Bangkok Community Radio, where she focuses on curating local soundscapes, organizing community-led events, and expanding the station’s reach through inclusive programming and regional collaborations.
