MSG4000: Taffa

taffa is an Eora-based DJ and graphic designer. They've performed throughout Australia (200+, Sidechains, Dreamhack, Trigger Happy, Tested Sluts) and the United States- and they're also a prominent staple in the online music community, namely as a VRDJ and co-lead of Millennium Strike.

Raised with their Uzbek family between the capital Tashkent and small town Gulistan, taffa grew up influenced by Russian and Uzbek club-infused pop music and colourful music videos. Although perhaps better known for spinning the harder styles, tonight taffa will be bringing a set of Uzbek dance music from the 90's and 00's.

"this is a set of uzbek artists that my aunts and uncles would play when i was growing up. i'm really grateful to have been raised by dance music from watching rage and hearing house and trance on the radio in australia to ripping cassettes and going to the club as a kid in uzbekistan.
a lot of contemporary uzbek music incorporates traditional song structures and instruments, so i hope you pay extra attention to those little details."
