Good morning, everybunny! Stay tuned for today's special Bento Box Artist! ZELDA
Zelda (ゼルダ), stylized as ZELDA, was a Japanese rock band active from 1979 to 1996. They played a pioneering role as one of Japan's first all-girl bands. Led by bassist Sachiho Kojima (小嶋さちほ), ZELDA’s last lineup also includes: Sayoko Takahashi (vocals, joined when she was 15 years old), Ako Ozawa (drums), Fukie Ishihara (guitar 1983-90) and Naomi Motomura (guitar 1991-96).
ZELDA was inspired by and covered an impressive range of musical genres: new wave, punk, pop, post-punk, and later, reggae; they played a particularly seminal role in Japanese music for their early forays into roots and experimental music. They have released 12 albums under various labels, including a live album, a remix album and a best hits compilation in 2003.
