Good meowning, everybunny! Today's Bento Box artist at 11am is Mega Shinnosuke!
Born in 2000, Mega Shinnosuke IS his real name. Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, the multi-talented and multi-disciplinary artist is now based in Tokyo since April 2019. Mega Shinnosuke handles songwriting, lyrics, arrangement, artwork, and video production himself. He began creating original music in the fall of 2017 and has steadily released his own works each year, performing at major festivals and events such as SUMMER SONIC, FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL, and COUNTDOWN JAPAN. His song “Ai to U,” released in June 2024, topped the Billboard JAPAN TikTok Weekly Top 20 for six consecutive weeks and surpassed 1.3 billion total views across social media platforms. In September of the same year, he released the album Kimi ni Motetai!!, which includes “Ai to U,” and held a solo tour across five cities in Japan.
In addition to his own music, he wrote and composed “Hoshi wo Aogu,” performed by Masaki Suda, which served as the theme song for the Nippon TV × Hulu co-produced drama With You on the Day the World Ends. He also wrote and composed “harajuku,” featured on King & Prince’s October 2024 album Re:ERA, and has contributed songs and made guest appearances for a variety of artists, including Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku and Miyu Irino.
