Today we're joined by Luara Brandao as she discusses the passion behind her experience as a Brazilian-born Creative & Cultural Director and the founder of INBRAZA — a bold platform uplifting Afro-Latinx voices through sound, movement, and education.
Rooted in the Global South and based in so-called Australia, Luara’s work reimagines club spaces as sites of community, cultural memory, and political expression. Her curatorial practice spans large-scale music events, international tours, workshops, festival takeovers, and educational panels — all created to amplify QTBIPOC bodies and honour diasporic stories. She sees the dance floor not just as a party, but as a tool of empowerment and a space to reclaim joy, ancestry, and freedom.
With over 5 years of experience in video production and creative strategy, Luara fuses visual storytelling with grassroots organising to spotlight underrepresented narratives. Her work in the film industry has seen her collaborate with global brands such as Nike and Dior, as well as major athletes like Tom Brady, Patty Mills, WNBA star Bec Allen, and NBL’s Mitch Creek.
As a video editor and creative director, Luara brings a sharp, emotionally intelligent to every project — centring authenticity, cultural depth, and visual impact.
INBRAZA is one of her proudest creations — a self-funded cultural movement born in 2022 that has grown into a transnational force, pushing Afro-Latinx culture to the forefront of the music and arts scene in so-called Australia and beyond.
Through INBRAZA, Luara continues to carve out spaces where joy becomes resistance, music becomes archive, and Afro-diasporic expression takes centre stage.
