Hydroplane are a Naarm (Melbourne) based group. Formed in 1996 by Kerrie Bolton, Bart Cummings and Andrew Withycombe, three quarters of independent pop group The Cat’s Miaow.
Hydroplane quickly established an international cult-following, with releases on labels in the USA, UK and Europe and regular airplay on BBC radio by John Peel. The group even made it onto John Peel’s Festive Fifty in 1997.
In October 2025 Hydroplane released A Place In My Memory Is All I Have To Claim. Again, working with Efficient Space, this was Hydroplane’s fourth album and first new recording in over two decades. This capped off a year that also included playing live at NTS Naarm and Absorb(ed), Melbourne.
