Problem Green

Inner West garage punk rockers, ‘Problem Green’ are an explosive four-piece band igniting the underground scene. Creating a sound bordering between untamed eruption and forced restraint, it’s hard not to get excited listening to music with so much passion.

Problem Green’s melodies aggravate emotions boiling beneath the urban membrane, harbouring a release only punk can set free. It’s a sound that collects grit and frustration and then leaves footprints all across a clean carpet.

Thriving off chaos and energy, it’s no wonder their name echoes around venues across the country. Driven by vocalist Emi Ew, these performances work a room into a flickering frenzy, pouring out sweat and emotion; pure punk. Their most recent song is a collaboration with ‘club bistro’; ‘PIGPEN’. It references the colonial foundations of Australian policing and ongoing abuses of power today. There’s something special in purposeful songs of passion, harbouring emotions that need to be heard with breakbeats, colliding guitars and raw volume.

Problem Green feels like a car speeding up as its tyres catch fire and the driver decides to cut the brakes.

If you’re into underground melodic garage punk, this one’s for you.
