Freight

Four people sit around an outdoor table in low light.

“We finished high school and then, like, nothing happened. And I was like, I’m sad. Can we start a band?”

Our Independent Artist of the Week Freight is a four-piece noise rock outfit hailing from the Blue Mountains. They’ve just released their debut album, a self-titled project with a weather cam screenshot for cover art. It’s ambient, it’s industrial, it’s another excellent addition to the canon of emo music coming out of NSW.

Listen back to their chat with Ify on Up For It, in which they chat playing with Freezer and Doris, alternate band names, and butting-heads during the recording process. Buy/stream their LP on Bandcamp below.
