ealing's musical output can only be described as chameleonic.
The Taiwan/Sydney based electronic artist, producer and DJ seamlessly blends elements of IDM, Hyper-pop, Ambient, DnB - the list goes on - whilst taking you along with them for the ride.
There is a sense of playfulness, wisdom and comfortability in the way that Ealing traverses genres. A hand outreached which allows you to sit and sink into each song completely.
On their 2024 album ‘kisseswhipthevision’ ealing begins with ‘Passing across the Kamchatka smuggler line in fanboat_6.57’, a glitchy, distortion-filled track that ends with a granular soundscape of dripping water and deep breaths. This track leads into black skys, a lush, fast-paced collaboration with Agony.
Having worked with artists including lil ket, BAYANG (tha Bushranger), Sidney Phillips, Sevy and Grasps, this is just one of many of ealing’s wondrous collaborative tracks.
Matt Do, of Out of the Box, caught up with ealing back in July. They had super insightful conversation about ealing’s sound, the influence of icon Oneohtrix Point Never, the joys of play and two of ealing’s latest releases, ‘Revelry is a Gateway to the Valley Above the World' and ‘FIRE ESCAPE ’26’.
