Blood Lotus

Naarm’s Blood Lotus is a project of the multi-talented Hannah Wu, disarmingly fusing club, experimental R&B, avant-garde pop and traditional Chinese instruments into a cacophony of sounds you could dance to in a heaving club, or simply melt away to on a mountainside.

With her debut album ‘Middle of the night’ set for release this year, it’s a bloom you don’t want to miss.

The intimacy of the vocals is striking. The lush beats simultaneously captivate your ears and mind, like you’re stuck in the eye of a storm you never wish to leave. Then those smooth vocals take control, and you can hear the emotion bleeding behind each lyric. Blood Lotus is breaking down barriers between genres and creating a specific sound complimenting this wild modern world.

Collaboration plays a key role in her process, working with Voidhood and Kuya Neil to produce her upcoming debut album. Furthermore, she’s collaborated with Ryan Fennis on ‘Halogen’, an unreleased track premiered on her guest mix with msg4000.

Blood Lotus inspires motion, change and inner peace. Each song has a vastly different landscape you want to explore and breathe in slowly, savouring a feeling crafted by experimental beats, ethereal synths and graceful strings.
