Aarti Jadu

Aarti Jadu threads the needle between classical, trance and traditional folk music.

With an extensive repertoire in yoga and raga music, informing her ethos as a musician, she also has an ardent approach to experimental sounds, inviting you into a beautiful world of spirituality.

Whilst currently based in Naarm/Melbourne, Aarti Jadu’s journey began in India. Its scenery and emotions informed the idiosyncratic, sonic landscape she’s known for today. Meticulously crafted out of driving bass, dynamic synthesisers and devotional melodies, born out of her quest for the abstract and the unknown.

Jadu’s art extends far beyond the confines of the digital space. Her live performances intertwine and blur the relationship of humans and computers with their hypnotic vocal loops, synthesiser sound beds and conscious acoustic playing.

Her latest track ‘The Mind Searcher Pt. 1’, is a haunting, 10 minute epic, engulfing any listener in an eerie environment of lush instrumentation. It appropriately fits into the canon of Jadu’s discography as a metamorphic piece of sound, both immersive and meditative.

However, it’s Aarti Jadu's 2022 debut album, L'Ecole De La Caz that reflects her ingenuity for sound and production. The album’s incomparable aesthetic is ethereal, cinematic and intricate;  serving as a vehicle to communicate multiple ruminations on identity, memory and belonging. The result is a 7 track sensual journey that is dreamlike and uncompromisingly textured.

“Every single pure part of us wants to resonate with the beauty and the devotion that someone else wants to give. That communal experience was so normal for me and that’s where my voice was found. I knew that’s how I could move people.
