Dance Class 2026

fbi radio’s beloved FLINTA DJ mentoring program Dance Class is back—and it’s ready to shape the next wave of dance music talent.

fbi radio’s beloved FLINTA DJ mentoring program Dance Class is back, ready to shape the next wave of dance music talent.

Returning in 2026, fbi radio Dance Class is a hands-on, no-nonsense pathway into the electronic music industry for women, non-binary and trans creatives. Designed to open doors that too often stay shut, the program pairs emerging DJs with some of the most respected mentors and figureheads in the Eora / Sydney scene.

Over the course of the program, six selected trainees will be immersed in the full ecosystem of dance music. Think DJing on CDJs and vinyl, radio presenting, running club nights, navigating the music business, bookings, and what it really takes to build a sustainable creative career. Each trainee is matched with an fbi radio mentor and invited behind the scenes—joining them on air and learning how radio shows are made from the inside out.

Now in its fifth year, Dance Class has already proven its impact. Alumni including Ebony Boadu, Lauren Hansom, Crescendoll and AK Sports have gone on to play alongside artists they once idolised, touring locally and internationally while becoming deeply embedded in Sydney’s dance music community.

This year’s mentors include fbi radio presenters and alumni Andy Garvey, d-grade, Au4r33y, Tangela, alongside many more, bringing real-world experience straight to the decks.

Applications are now open to women, non-binary and trans people with a deep love of dance music—hip hop, disco, techno, house and beyond. No prior DJ experience is required. Selection is based purely on passion, enthusiasm and taste.

Apply before 11:59pm Monday February 2 by filling in this form.

fbi radio Dance Class is proudly supported by Absolut and Create NSW.
